Thank you for your membership.  My name is Jess Murphy, and I am running for Vice President/Chief Steward of our NTEU Chapter 224. With a career spanning over two decades, I have dedicated myself to serving our members with unwavering commitment and integrity.

I became a proud dues-paying member of NTEU Chapter 2004. My journey with NTEU began in 2014, when I began to serve our chapter as a Steward. This role allowed me to directly support our members.  You then allowed me the privilege to serve in various capacities, including Region II Regional Vice President, substitute Regional Vice President for Regions I, IV, VII, IX, and X, and a brief tenure as Vice President at Large.

I demonstrate my dedication to NTEU through my steadfast service and tireless work with the Communications Team. I prioritized two-way communication between employees and managers to achieve mutually agreeable results. My legal and SSA backgrounds equipped me with an understanding of accurate record-keeping, documentation, and the complexities of contract and ethics issues. This cultivated knowledge enables me to compassionately guide employees through obstacles and anticipate potential issues to ensure effective solutions.

My experience uniquely positions me to consider multiple facets of any issue to facilitate effective negotiation. I continue to seek better understanding of rules, regulations, and case law to support our members' interests. I remain committed to NTEU’s mission and vision.  I believe that my experience, dedication, and passion make me the ideal candidate for Vice President and Chief Steward.
